Suspected Boko Haram insurgents kill COCIN Pastor, 5 others in Yobe

Suspected Boko Haram Insurgents have killed Pastor Luka Levong, of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Geidam council area of Yobe state.

Five others who could not escape from the insurgents were equally gunned down to their early demise in the same vicinity in Kwari village of Geidam.

Some of the members who later took the six corpses to the Specialist Hospital Geidam said that the attackers invaded their village around 2am last Friday and shot the Pastor and his Church Treasurer, Maina Abdullahi.

Other members of the general area in Kwari village were also killed in their homes in a serial manner before the arrival of troops.

Eyewitnesses told reporters on phone that several homes were burnt down in their trail including the COCIN Church in Kwari while several vehicles were also set ablaze.

Geidam council area is a border town about 177 km away from the state capital Damaturu which hosts the sector 2 command headquarters of operation Hadin Kai which coordinates the vast arena of land in Yobe.
