ONDO NAWOJ CONGRATULATES AISHA BURA, ADEOLA ADEKUNLE, ON EMERGENCE AS PRESIDENT, SOUTHWEST VP

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ondo state Chapter has expressed the belief that the emergence of Comrade Aisha Ibrahim Bura as President, and the B-Zone Vice president (Southwest), Comrade Adeola Adekunle will unite NAWOJIANS all over the country and bring development to the association.

In a press statement signed by the Chairperson, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi and the Secretary, Comrade Oluwatosin Ighoteguono, the Ondo NAWOJ while congratulating Hajia Aisha Bura, Adeola Adekunle of Ondo State Chapter and other National Officers, described them as great team that would bring greatness to all.

Aisha, had during the election conducted on Saturday 25th November, at the 11th Triennial Delegates Conference in Abuja defeated the incumbent President, Ladi Bala.

Ondo NAWOJ thanked other five states under the B-zone namely; Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Oyo and Osun, for their unprecedented support for Adeola Adekunle to lead the zone at this critical time.

The statement reads “We are indebted to all Southwest Leaders of NUJ and NAWOJ including our Amazon NUJ Vice President, Princess Ronke Samo, NUJ Chairmen/Secretaries as well as our foremost leaders Dr Abimbola Oyetunde and Chief Mrs Ify Omowole for working tirelessly and creatively to deliver mandates of our team.”

The statement also tasks the newly elected National Executives on robust performance for the development of the Association and towards enhancing unity among members.

“We assure you of our cooperation as your team works towards achieving a greater NAWOJ. We also felicitate the re-elected deputy President, Lilian Okonkwo Ogabu; the National Secretary, Wasilah Ibrahim-ladan; National Treasurer, Fatimah Rasheed; National Financial secretary, Ifeoma Aka; Assistant National Secretary, Aisha Cole, National Auditor, Jemilah Abubakar and Adeola Adewole Zonal Secretary B Zone on their resounding victory.”

Ondo NAWOJ also congratulates all Women Journalists across the country, urging them to continue with the united spirit and join hands with the new administration to succeed.
