National Association of University Students, Osun State Campus monitoring committee NAUS had called on president Ahmed Tinubu take measures to address the astronomical increase of School fees in various tertiary institutions across the country .
The Studens lamented on the recent increase of School fees of Federal universities especially Obafemi Awolowo University OAU by the school management which they said will prevent many Nigerian youths out of school
Addressing journalists at osogbo, the president of NAUS comrade popoola Olayinka hinted that education is a right of every citizens and not a Previlleged which government must piriotize and make education affordable.
Olayinka who was accompanied by his Secretary, comrade Akinleye Okiji and other executives said the association in conjunction with OAU student Union have given 5 days ultimatum for management to reverse the fee increase and failure to do so may lead to mass action .
According to him the other demands are closure of student payment portal and total suspension of any payment into the accounts of OAU until all demands are met .
While condemning communal recent killing at Ilesha, he urged the security agencies to rise up to the occasion and ensure those behind are brought to justice and that the state government should address and resolved all communal crises among Osun communities .
On subsidy palliative, the Association urged the federal and state Governments to further roll out measure to cushion the effect as many Nigerians who are facing serious challenges pointing particularly to food and transportation.
NAUS who were on the opinion that government cannot singled handedly found education suggested many ways in which schools should source funds to assist in funding education in Nigeria.
Some of the suggested ways includes Agriculture, hydro electricity supply to university communities among others.
