Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has commissioned the first tunnel for pedestrian crossing in maiduguri to mark his 100 days in office.

The project constructed around the famous Gamboru market was flagged off this year and commissioned at the foot of the customs fly over bridge in Maiduguri on Friday.

With the completion of this well lighted tunnel, accidents across this route will be reduced to the lowest within that heavily populated area.

Zulum noted that the construction of the tunnel was necessitated by the myriad of risks overtaken by residents crossing the highway into the crowded Gamboru market and back.

Some other projects lined up for commissioning during the 100 days ceremony include schools and clinics built by the Zulum administration.

The weekend commissioning expected to be flagged off by the Vice President Kashim Shettima include a clinic at Shuari 2, Shuari community school, a community school at Alakairamti, Gamboru liberty day secondary school and a flag off of the construction of the bowl road network construction.

Meanwhile Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived Maiduguri in preparation for the Commissioning of projects completed within the last 100 days of Governor Babagana Zulum.
