
… Urges prayers for Akeredolu, State
Ondo state government has called on the state intending pilgrims for this year’s holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia to be good ambassadors of the state as it bids them farewell.
The Ondo state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu made the call at the farewell ceremony held for them in Akure at the weekend.
Akeredolu who was represented at the occasion by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, urged the intending pilgrims to obey the rules and regulations of Saudi Authority.

Akerodolu, who tasked the intending pilgrims to be peaceful and law abiding, wished them a fruitfull and safe journey.
He promised his continuous support towards the development of Islam, describing Muslims as more accommodating, patience and understanding people.
The Chairman of the Ondo state League of Imams and Alfas who doubles as the Chief Imam of Owo, Alhaji Sheik Ahmad Aladesawe called on all intending pilgrims to pray for Akeredolu’s sound health and not to mourn over him.

” Be united and be good ambassadors of the state,” he said.
The Grand Mufti of Ondo state, Alhaji Sheik Surajudeen Batuta prayed for a hitch-free exercise calling on the intending Pilgrims to pray for all muslim appointees to be guided by God rowards performing excellently well.
Batuta urged the intending pilgrims to pray fervently for Nigeria and the President to be guided rightly adding that the State governor should be prayed for because people are not happy with the state of his present health condition.

He also noted the need for praying for the state whom he observed has not benefitted any meaningfull ministerial appointment.
The Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Alhaji Sheik AbdulHakeem Akorede prayed that God should perfect the healing of Akeredolu and grant him his heart desires.
Akorede said God will not destroy the state but to help in the development of the state and appealed that intending pilgrims should obey instructions of the state board officials during their stay at the holy land.

The Chief Imam of Ikare kingdom, Alhaji Abass Abubakr, prayed for pilgrims’ safe trip and acceptance of all the prayers for Akeredolu.
He said they should always read and get conversant with Quran Chapter 2 verse 198 while remembering them on the proceedings in hajj performance.
The Chief Imam of Ondo, Alhaji Bashir Alimi, while praying for the intending pilgrims, described the prayers for Akeredolu as very important because of his interest for the generality of Ondo state citizens.

In his welcome speech, the Ondo state Chairman of the Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Dikrullah Chandy Adam said people should know why they are at the holy land to worship.
We appreciated all those that expressed their piece of advice adding that intending pilgrims should adhere to all preaches and admonitions as enumerated in ensuring that they had a fulfilled hajj operation.
