The Publisher of the Democrat News Magazine and a practising journalist, Mr. Alaba Aliu has been elected as the Chairman of Federated Chapel, of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ondo State Council.
The election and inauguration was conducted by NUJECO under the chairmanship Revd David Akinadewo on August 17th, 2023 at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Pen House behind Adegbemile, Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State as members of the chapel came in their numbers.
Earlier, the immediate past Chairman of the chapel, Mr. Bayo Adediran in his remarks enumerated his challenges and achievements and advised the new executive members on the development of the chapel.
The State Chairman of NUJ Prince Leke Adegite represented by the state council Secretary, Mr. Meshak Olaoluwa while administering the oath of office on Alaba Aliu urged the new executive to be up and doing to make their presence felt at the state council activities.
Alaba Aliu also administer the oath of office to other members of his executive .
Former National Officer of the Union and an elder of the chapel, Mr. Ebenezer Adeniyan appreciated the NUJECO Chirman and his the Secretary for the job well done.
He advised the new executive members to work together in unity as to achieve good success.
He said the chapel has the potential to be one of the best and expressed confidence in the newly elected chairman to lead the Chapel to an enviable height.
Adeniyan tasked the new leadership to start planning towards the 10th anniversary of the chapel saying that he expects something tangible and great from the them.
Earlier in his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairman, Mr. Alaba Aliu said he would stop at nothing but to fast track development of the chapel and to promote the welfare of members as well as getting new members enlisted into the chapel.
Other executive members includes : Miss Precious Oluwole, treasurer, Mr. Ado Adeboye, secretary and Mr. Jimisayo Adebiyi, Vice Chairman
The New Secretary, Mr. Ado Adeboye in a closing remark appreciated the participants for the time praying for the best for the chapel and it’s members.
